According to CNBC, on Thursday, Samsung announced that it will hold a new product launch conference in San Francisco on February 20. It is expected that the next-generation flagship mobile phone Galaxy S10 will be launched.

It is speculated that this phone will become the first mainstream smartphone to support 5G wireless network. The 5G wireless network is the faster wireless standard deployed by operators this year. Another phone is said to be equipped with a foldable screen.

In July 2018, Samsung announced that it has developed a foldable screen technology, but since then, the company has suffered setbacks in applying the technology to its products. In November 2018, the startup company Rouyu launched the FlexiPai foldable phone. Earlier this week, Samsung lowered its fourth-quarter earnings forecast, saying that the fierce competition in the smartphone market is an important reason for its failure to meet analyst expectations.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung plans to launch three Galaxy S10 phones with different screen sizes in March this year, and launch a fourth mobile phone with 5G network capabilities later this spring. Samsung has informed its partners that this foldable screen phone will be released as early as April, but the release date and name have not yet been determined. The company is considering naming the phone “Fold”, “Galaxy Fold” or “Galaxy F”.

The release of this foldable phone has been postponed, after Samsung initially said it expects to launch the phone in 2018. Last November, Samsung showed off the prototype of this foldable phone, which folds more like a tablet. According to the “Wall Street Journal” report, in order to grab the launch of the foldable screen phone at the Barcelona trade show in late February, Samsung launched the S10 series of mobile phones in advance.
